Sober? No, never that. I felt as if I was not allowed to write this blog without having at least one glass of wine because let's be real, smashionals!!!
If you are confused right now, please raise your hand! Okay, okay. I see maybe, one, two hands went up and the rest of yall are too scared to raise your hand, but I can tell you have no clue what I am talking about.
I'm literally laughing at myself right now because clearly, I'm making this whole scenario up, but there's so many times I make up stories about people's lives that I don't even know. For example, I'll see someone on the street and I'm like woah they look super cool, super chill, I could totally vibe with them. Then I take it to a whole new level and I'm like you know what, I bet they are looking for a new best friend right about now. They look like they are heading after some good sushi and I could totally dig some good sushi. I bet they haven't seen their parents in at least 3 months and they are from the South Island. I would totally book a last minute flight to go to the South Island to see their family with them and I don't even know them. I bet they make some banging food though so it'd all be worth it.
Like who am I? Creating this entire story and sometime going into more detail and they don't even know I exist. Like is that weird or is that weird? If I am any type of interested in your life and I don't know everything about you, there's a really good chance I've made up a lot of stuff about you in my head. No worries, I don't share these stories with anyone, I just use them to my own entertainment and sometimes tests my thesis.
Back to smashionals...
I actually got this term from my sister because she use to play club volleyball at university and when they would go to Nationals it was more with the intention to drink. So if you know me, you know where I am headed with this...
Recently I competed with NZIS (New Zealand Institute of Sport) at the 50th New Zealand Club Nationals which consists of 4 days of competition ended with one fabulous social gathering.
Unfortunately, I wrote all of the above right after Nationals and now it's nearly two months later that I am trying to recall all of the events because I've been a bit busy shall we say.
I'm just gonna leave this as a shout out to my hungry hippos and say maybe I'll write one after the breakup because I'm sure that'll be just as good. I'm not even sure if the world needs to know what goes on at smashionals. I feel like it shouldn't disclosed to the public.
Between ripped jeans, swollen eyes, tears, and other things that can not be discussed, just know that we had a hell of a time. The only thing that is going to break us apart is our old bodies, other than that I think it's safe to say we will be sticking together.
Cheers to the hungry hippos and ultimate town queens! We run these streets!
HUNGRY, HUNGRY....
